There is no doubt that headaches and migraines are the two most common problems of modern times. Students, office goers, housewives, the elderly, etc. People of all ages and all classes are troubled by these problems.
In particular, migraine causes a lot of pain. It can last from a few minutes to several hours or days. Due to the shooting pain, people take pain-killers or apply balms to bring relief, however, such relief is temporary and after a while, the pain comes back as before.
Let’s understand how it can be overcome by Yoga asanas which are in practice for thousands of years. In addition to the Asanas, the Pranayama or the breathing exercises also prove to be very effective for relief from the migraine. 1. Setu Bandhanasana (Bridge Pose)

2. Marjaryasana (cat stretch)

3. Paschimottanasana (Two Legged Forward Bend)

You will be surprised to know that the Paschimottanasana has been practiced for several thousand years to increase the concentration for the students in India. This asana, which is done by bending forward, provides tremendous stretch to the veins of both hands, both legs, abdomen, back, and head. It gives great comfort to the whole body and enhances the mind’s ability to focus. This asana relieves migraine, headache as well as backache and knee discomfort.

4.Adhomukhasana (Downward Facing Dog Pose)

In this posture, you are in a pose that is similar to the dog that is stretching his body. It deeply stretches your shoulders, hands, calves, and spine along with building strength in your arms, legs, and shoulders. Regular practice of this asana is a surefire remedy for migraines.

5. Makarasana (Crocodile Pose)

Makarasana posture is one of the easiest asanas in which the eyes are closed by lying on the abdomen and placing the chin in your palms. The inhalation and exhalation of the breath are performed at a fixed rhythm. This asana calms both the body and the mind.
